Secure and Lasting Tooth Replacement Options

Dental Bridges to Replace Missing Teeth

Dental bridges are an effective solution for replacing one or more missing teeth by using the neighbouring teeth as anchors. Leaving gaps untreated can cause surrounding teeth to shift, leading to bite problems, jaw discomfort or gum disease. Bridges restore proper alignment and help maintain oral stability.

A well-designed bridge improves chewing function, speech and overall comfort. It also supports facial structure by preventing bone and tissue changes associated with missing teeth. We carefully assess your oral health to determine whether a bridge is the most suitable option for your needs.

Denture Options

Dentures are a removable option for replacing one or multiple missing teeth, helping to restore your smile, improve chewing and speech, and support your facial structure. They are custom-made by a dental technician to fit comfortably and can be designed as either partial or full dentures, depending on your needs. A referral is required for denture fabrication. Our dentists will assess your mouth, discuss all available options for replacing missing teeth and determine whether you are a suitable candidate for this treatment.

Our team will guide you through each stage of the process so you understand what to expect and can make informed decisions about your care.

What Are Dental Implants and How Do They Work?

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root made from titanium that is placed into the jawbone to support a replacement tooth or bridge. Titanium is biocompatible, meaning it integrates naturally with the bone to create a strong and stable foundation. Once healed, the implant functions much like a natural tooth root.

Dental implants are suitable for patients in good general and oral health who have lost teeth due to injury, gum disease or other causes. They provide a fixed solution that looks, feels and functions like natural teeth. With proper care, dental implants can last for many years.

Benefits of Dental Implants for Missing Teeth

Dental implants offer several advantages over traditional tooth replacement options. Unlike bridges, implants do not rely on neighbouring teeth for support, helping preserve healthy tooth structure. This makes them a more tooth-conservative solution in many cases.

Implants are designed to feel secure and stable, allowing you to eat, speak and smile with confidence. They also help maintain jawbone health by stimulating the bone, which can prevent bone loss over time. Under the right conditions and with good oral hygiene, dental implants can provide a lifelong solution.

The Dental Implant Process

Dental implant treatment is completed in several carefully planned stages to ensure long-term success. Each stage is timed to allow proper healing and integration of the implant with the bone. We provide clear guidance and support throughout the entire process.

Stage 1 - Implant Assessment and Planning

A scanning x-ray and clinical examination are completed to assess bone, teeth and overall oral health, followed by a detailed treatment plan including timelines and costs.

Stage 2 - Tooth Removal and Healing

If an infected or cracked tooth needs removal, this is completed first, with a temporary tooth provided while healing occurs over four to six weeks.

Stage 3 - Dental Implant Placement

The titanium implant is surgically placed by a specialist, which, over time, will allow bone to adhere to its surface. The healing period for the implant takes 2-6 months. This part of the process is not completed in-house, and we will refer you to a trusted specialist for this stage of the process.

Stage 4 - Healing Cap Placement

The implant is uncovered and a healing cap is placed, which allows the tissue to heal and create the correct shape. At least another 3 weeks of healing time is required.

Stage 5 - Implant Crown Construction

An impression of the implant is taken so the final custom implant post and crown can be crafted to achieve a precise, long-lasting and natural-looking result.
